Imagine a bunch of people on a tropical island where they are free to do whatever they want.
First there was Koh Mak
Koh Mak is a tropical island near the Cambodian border in Thailand. Thats where people met finding themselves in the lucky position of letting spirits flow.
In addition to the fact that things are sometimes easier on Koh Mak as it is a small island with a strong community where everybody knows each other, many people decided to stay longer and some of them want to unleash creativity despite from day jobs, art education or assumed talent.
And there where treasures
People found out that the island offers a lot of treasures that can easily be turned into beautiful things. Thats why part of the mission is also to buy as little as possible. Sometimes its beach finds such as thrift wood, sometimes its plastic left overs for upcycling.
Then there where people
The two of them where not the only ones and suddenly a crafts tribe of treasure hunters, market hoppers, artists and idea suppliers formed. Many islanders involved themselves including visitors and long stayers from all over the world as well as Koh Mak residents.
Quickly everything formed a perfect circle
Finally everything got perfectly organised by a lot of helping hands. Everyone had fun crafting and the products where given away for donation all over the island. Bars and restaurants joined in and a crafts market was organized. The donations went to local animal welfare projects and everyone took just the best out of it.
And the beat goes on
Back in Germany those who started the crafting network kept crafting for happiness as they can also find treasures there. They develop new ideas and projects such as regular crafts meetings and an Etsy shop for Germany until they are back on Koh Mak.
